Police search for woman who robbed several stores on East Washington Ave

MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police are looking for a woman who robbed several stores and got away with cash and cigarettes Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

MPD officials said the rash of armed robberies started Tuesday at about 6:30 p.m. at the Tobacco Deals store in the 2800 block of East Washington Avenue.

The robberies continued Wednesday at about 2:30 a.m. The suspect went to the BP in the 700 block of East Washington Avenue, the Mobile in the 3000 block of East Washington Avenue and the Walgreen’s in the 3700 block of East Washington Avenue.

The woman displayed a gun at each of the locations. No one was hurt.

Police provided this description of the suspect:

Heavy set (260 pounds) white female who was roughly 5”5″ – 5’7″ tall with red hair. During the robberies she was wearing dark clothing, a scarf, and a baseball hat with alternating white and dark colored panels. She has a mask on during one of the robberies.
