BARRON COUNTY (WKOW) — More than a month after Jayme Closs escaped her abductor and found her way to safety, she and her family are saying thank you.They released a statement Wednesday:“Jayme and her family wish to extend their deepest gratitude for the incredible gifts and generous donations that she has received from all over the country and around the world. Jayme greatly appreciates each and every gift, as well as the many cards and letters. The many kind words have been a source of great comfort to her.”Closs had been missing since October 15, when her parents, James and Denise, were found murdered in their home in Barron. Authorities have spent the past 88 days searching for her.Jake Thomas Patterson, 21, from Gordon, Wisconsin, was captured by Douglas County deputies shortly after Closs was found alive. He has been charged in Jayme’s abduction and the killing of her parents.
