Marijuana use for medical purposes would be legal in Wisconsin under a plan that Governor Tony Evers will include in his state budget proposal. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Evers plan also calls for allowing records to be expunged for people with previous convictions relating to marijuana possessions in small amounts. His plan would allow cancer patients, people with chronic pain, and people with PTSD to use marijuana as part of a treatment plan for their medical condition. Republican state lawmakers would need to support the plan for it to clear the state budget process. It is not clear if there are enough votes for it to pass.
