Governor Tony Evers Rescinds 82 Appointees

(Madison, WI) -- Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is rescinding 82 appointees who were approved under a December lame-duck session. A spokeswoman for Evers said those seats are now considered vacant and the Governor is committed to filling them as soon as possible. Some of the posts that need to be filled now are a University of Wisconsin System regent and a commissioner of the state Public Service Commission. GOP lawmakers are asking the appeals court to reverse a ruling that stops a series of lame duck laws which limit the powers of Democratic Governor Tony Evers. On Thursday, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Richard Niess blocked the series of laws passed by Republicans in the lame-duck session.
