MADISON (WKOW) — A man wanted in connection to a murder in Illinois was arrested early Saturday morning in the town of Albion, according to Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s officials say just before 1 a.m. deputies arrested 37-year-old Eddie L. Mentgen, of Chicago, who was wanted in relation to a homicide that happened in Spring Valley, Illinois earlier that night.
Mentgen was taken into custody during a high-risk traffic stop at the Edgerton Oasis on Haugan Road, according to sheriff’s officials.
Mentgen is currently being held in the Dane County Jail pending extradition. Deputies took possession on the 2007 Dodge Caravan that Mentgen was driving, as well as “numerous pieces of evidence.”
