Power restored for hundreds in southern Wisconsin

MADISON (WKOW) — Hundreds of customers in south-central Wisconsin are without power early Thursday morning because of weather conditions.

As of 7:30 a.m.,MG&E’s outage mapshows 456 affected customers in the Middleton-Cross Plains area.

MG&E Spokesperson Steve Schultz tells 27 News the outages are being caused by “galloping lines”, when strong wind blows power lines up and down. He says crews are on the scene of multiple outages and are working to restore power to affected customers.

Alliant Energy is also reporting some outages. According to their outage map, dozens are without power in Sauk, Dane and Green counties.
