UPDATE (WKOW) — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says the house that caught fire Wednesday afternoon in Cottage Grove appears to be a total loss.
The fire started around 2:45 p.m. at the house in the 4600 block of Lotus Lane. Firefighting crews from Deerfield, Cottage Grove and Stoughton were called in.
Damage is estimated at $300,000.
No people or pets were hurt.
Investigators say the fire does not appear suspicious.
