The firefighter who was shot and killed while responding to a call Wednesday in Appleton has been identified as Firefighter Mitch Lundgaard.
Lundgaard died after arriving with other first responders and police to the Appleton transit center to assist a 47-year-old man who was arriving on a bus from the Wausau area.
The original call said the man was having a medical emergency and first responders provided initial medical assistance on the bus.
