MADISON (WKOW) — A road rage incident in Madison resulted in a man allegedly pulling a gun on a mother and daughter, according to police.
Police said around 9 a.m. Monday, a 39-year-old woman was driving with her 18-year-old daughter on North Stoughton Road. The woman told police that she became upset with the driver of a gray Mazda CX-5 after he began honking his horn at her. She said it was because she was slow to accelerate after a red light turned green.
The Mazda had been directly behind her, but pulled up alongside her car, according to police. She said it swerved cause her to pull into another traffic lane.
The woman gave “the finger” to the male driver and when both were stopped at a red light on East Washington Avenue, the other driver pulled out a handgun while screaming something similar to “What’s up, b?”, according to police.
The woman pulled over to call 911. Police said when officers arrived the woman was upset about what happened.
“He could have shot me,” she said. “It was scary!”
Police said the suspect driver is described as a 30-year-old black man, 6’1″ tall and 200 pounds with long dreads. He was last seen wearing a neon yellow shirt, according to police.
