MADISON (WKOW) — A Georgia man, while visiting Madison, found negotiating roadways downtown challenging.
26-year-old David M. Ndong of Atlanta, pulled up to ask an officer for directions about 3:20 a.m Wednesday at the corner of North Butler and East Gilman Streets, the Madison Police Department said in an incident report.
According to police, the officer recognized Ndong from a previous incident, and realized he was intoxicated again.
Ndong was processed for his third drunken driving offense this month, police said.
His first arrest came on June 4 just before 1 a.m.
His second arrest was early this Saturday morning when Ndong was pulled over for driving against traffic in the 400 block of West Gilman Street, where police said he remarked: “One-ways are everywhere.”
“It didn’t help his navigation skills that he had been drinking,” police said.
Inside Ndong’s car, officers found paperwork from the previous two OWI arrests, as well as another citation issued by a Madison officer last Thursday for a hit-and-run.
