Numerous roads reopen after months of construction

(WKOW) — After months of traffic headaches, driving in the Fitchburg area may be a little easier.

On Tuesday drivers will be able to drive on the Williamsburg Way bridge over Verona Road in Fitchburg.

The bridge has been closed for about three months. However, there’s still a lot of work to be done on the Verona Road Project. It’s scheduled to be finished next year in the fall.

Additionally, officials said University Avenue in Middleton is almost ready to re-open. The city of Madison said the road still needs street lights, sign poles and paint lines. However, it could open as soon as next Wednesday.

On road in Rock County also opened on Tuesday. County M under the interstate is planning to be open. It was closed late last month.

However, starting on Tuesday, Newville Road near I-39/90, south of the Wisconsin 59 will be closed until late July.
