Standoff situation in Sauk Co. shuts down Wis. 136 for several hours

UPDATE (WKOW) — Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister tells 27 News a disturbance that sparked a standoff is what led to the closure of Wisconsin 136 near Rock Springs for several hours Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff reports they responded to a disturbance at a home on East Broadway in the Village of Rock Springs. He said that during the disturbance, a person in the home reported that a gun was fired. The victim was able to get out, but the suspect remained inside.

The suspect — 39-year-old Bradley Lewandowski of Rock Springs — didn’t respond to deputies outside the door. The Sauk County Emergency Response Team and Sauk County Negotiations Team attempted to make contact for several hours — with no response.

The Emergency Response Team was able to make their way inside the home at 5:45 a.m — and they report Lewandowski was arrested without incident.

Lewandowski was booked into the Sauk County Jail and faces charges of Domestic Abuse, Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Abuse Battery, and Recklessly Endangering Public Safety.
