MADISON (WKOW) — UW football player Danny Davis testified Thursday that a woman accusing his former teammate of sex assault said nothing about rape when she left Cephus’s bedroom on the night of the alleged incident.
Former Badger Quintez Cephus is on trial for second degree and third degree sexual assault in connection with this actions with two UW students in April 2018. Cephus maintains the sexual encounter with the women was consensual.
Davis conceded he took a photo of one of the women naked during the evening of the incident at Cephus’s urging.
Davis said the woman left Cephus’s room and demanded the photo be deleted, which Davis said he did.
Photographing nudity without the subject’s permission is a felony crime, but Davis has received immunity from prosecution in exchange for surrendering his phone to authorities.
Davis testified the accuser who left Cephus’s bedroom was also upset about “hooking up” with Cephus, but Davis said she made no mention of sex being forced.
Authorities say both victims were intoxicated, with one so impaired she was incapable of consenting to sex.
A prosecutor asked Davis if it was difficult for Davis to testify against his friend and former teammate.
“I am not testifying against him,” Davis responded.
Jurors may begin deliberations in Cephus’s trial later Thursday.
