A man arrested for shooting a woman on State Street in Madison Wednesday has been charged.
According to court records Francis Kimani is charged with injury by negligent use of a weapon. During a court appearance Friday, a judge set Kimani’s signature bond at $500.
Madison police say Wednesday’s shootingwas accidental.
Investigators say a woman got into an SUV and a gun went off. She was hit in the chest and taken to the hospital. Officers say she is in stable condition.
Kimani has a valid concealed carry permit, according to a police spokesperson.
