MADISON (WKOW) — Officials in Madison are now reviewing whether the city’s only strip club should lose its licenses.
The city attorney asked for the liquor and 21-plus entertainment licenses of Visions to be revoked, citing multiple ordinance violations and a shooting at the venue last year.
The attorney’s complaint went before Madison’s Alcohol License Review Committee Wednesday night. Committee members chose to create a three-person sub-committee to further review the issue.
During the meeting, Al Reichenberger, one of the original owners of Visions who is no longer involved with the business, got up to speak in defense of the club. He questioned why the city would want to get rid of Visions now, since it’s been around for more than 40 years.
“It’s not because of some of the reasons you have. The reason they want to close Visions is certain people do not like adult entertainment. So you use other excuses to try to get rid of the nightclub,” Reichenberger said.
