EASTMAN TOWNSHIP (WKOW) — A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head in Crawford County early Friday morning.

Around 1:20 a.m., Crawford County dispatchers received a call from a woman who said she was in a vehicle in a driveway and the 47-year-old man driving the vehicle had been shot in the head, according to a Facebook post from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

They were in the camper for about 45 minutes before the woman and 47-year-old driver headed out.

Officials said as the two were driving away when someone shot into the truck through the back window striking the driver in the back of the head.

The driver, a 47-year-old from Monticello, Wisconsin, was taken to Crossing Rivers Hospital and then moved to UW Hospital.

According to the Facebook post, he is in critical condition.
