Former NAMI-Wisconsin director faces charges of theft from nonprofit

The former executive director of a Madison based non-profit agency faces a possible 18 counts of misappropriation of personal identifying materials, and one count of felony theft from a business.

A Madison police detective began investigating Jessica L. Gruneich, age 40, Madison, earlier this year after being contacted by concerned staff members at National Alliance on Mental Illness-Wisconsin, 4233 W. Beltline Highway.

The detective alleges Gruneich used a NAMI Wisconsin credit card to make a large number of unauthorized purchases, including hotel rooms, rental cars, moving expenses and restaurant bills.
