Sun Prairie police are crediting the use of a Madison Police Department drone for help in locating a man who had suffered from what they believe was a medical emergency.
Sun Prairie police found the man’s vehicle about 2:40 a.m. Wednesday in the field near a new housing development off of O’Keeffe Avenue.
The officer found the engine running with the door open, but no one inside, according to a news release from the Sun Prairie Police Department.
Officers learned the driver of the car was 57-year-old man and began a search.
The man’s family told police he had not been heard from since 2:30 p.m. the day before.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office was called in with a police dog to assist with tracking
