Fitchburg police look for suspect in gas station robbery

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Police are looking for someone who robbed a Fitchburg convenience store early Monday morning.

Police say around 6:00 a.m. officers responded to the Kelley Williamson Mobil gas station on Fish Hatchery Road for a report of a strong-armed robbery. They say a man walked into the store, shoved an employee to the ground and stole "an undisclosed amount of cash" before running away.

Officers used a K9 to try to track down the suspect, but they were unable to find them, according to police.

Police say the suspect had a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black coat with brown fur on the hood, gray sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fitchburg Police Department at 608-270-4300.
