Police search for suspect after man killed in Janesville

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police are searching for an Illinois man officers say is connected to a shooting death in Janesville.

Janesville police say around 5 a.m. on Sunday, shots were fired in the 600 block of W. Racine Street. Police found a 40-year-old man had been shot and was lying in the street.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police say as they investigated, officers learned the victim and suspect had been at a house party in that block and got into an argument, which ended with the suspect shooting the victim.

Police are now looking for Corvasie Weaver, 24, of Joliet, Illinois. Investigators say he is likely armed and should not be approached if you see him.
