Prosecutors say they may have identified an additional victim in the hidden camera case against a Madison East High School teacher.
David Kruchten, 37, of Cottage Grove, appeared in federal court today and was bound over for further proceedings.
He had a trial date set for Sept. 21.
Kruchten is charged with seven counts of attempting to use a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the conduct. He earlier pleaded not guilty.
He has pleaded not guilty in the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Altman Thursday said Kruchten was involved in five instances of alleged criminal behavior with hidden cameras.
Kruchten had been listed on the Madison East High School website as an adviser of the DECA program at the school.
The indictment alleges that he attempted to produce the child pornography in Wisconsin using hidden recording devices on October 27, 2019, and on January 20, 2019.
A separate complaint filed in Hennepin County Court claims Kruchten hid cameras in the rooms of students during a DECA trip to Minneapolis in December that were hidden inside air fresheners and smoke detectors, prosecutors say.
