Monday is the last day you can register to vote online. A federal judge ordered the original deadline of March 18th to be reopened until March 30th.
If you miss this this deadline, you can still register in-person with your municipal clerk’s office by April 3rd by 5:00 p.m.
What do I need to vote absentee?
If you request an absentee ballot in-person you will need to show a form of identification or proof of residence. If you request online for a mail-in absentee ballot you will have to upload a photo of your ID.
To request an absentee ballot online, visit www.myvote.wi.gov and follow steps after clicking on “Vote Absentee” on the top right of the page.
To request an absentee ballot by mail or fax, you must send a request to your local clerk. A list of clerks can be found on the Wisconsin Election Commissionsite.
What’s the deadline to vote absentee?
A ballot has to be requested on April 2nd by 5 p.m. The deadline to return your ballot to your local clerk must be by election day April 7th, by 8 p.m.
Can I still vote in-person on election day?
Yes, but your typical polling site might be closed or be combined with other polling sites as election officials anticipate a shortage of poll workers due to the coronavirus. Municipalities like Middleton and Stoughton are combining all polling locations. For Stoughton, voters should head to Stoughton Wellness and Athletic Center -- Middleton voters should cast a ballot at Kromrey Middle School.
