- Data updated Friday listed the number of available hospital beds in Wisconsin.
According to numbers published by the Wisconsin Hospital Association(WHA), the number of total COVID-19 patients in the state's hospitals decreased by three over the last 24 hours. The data does not specify if those people recovered or died.
Instead, the numbers illustrate the number of available beds in Wisconsin's hospitals.
Of the state's 1,395 intensive care beds, 404 remain available, as do 297 of the 717 intermediate care beds. Just over 2,000 medical surgical beds of the 7,049 in Wisconsin remain open.
Health officials have said the goal of actions like closing nonessential businesses and the Safer at Home order is to slow the spread of COVID-19 and ensure hospitals are not overwhelmed.
Four-hundred-forty-three people are in Wisconsin hospitals with confirmed COVID-19 infections, according to WHA. Of those, 185 are in intensive care, a decrease of 11 from the day before.
The numbers say 273 people in state hospitals currently await COVID-19 test results.
The numbers are updated each day at 10 a.m., according to the WHA.
