Spring Green residents vote to ban breeding of dogs/cats for research

VILLAGE OF SPRING GREEN (WKOW) -- Voters in the Village of Spring Green decided to ban the breeding of dogs and cats for medical research.

The question was on the ballot during the Spring Primary, April 7.

Unofficial resultsshow 340 votes for banning the practice, 304 votes against banning it.

The referendum comes after recent controversy involving local dog breeders, the town and village of Spring Green and the Sauk County Board over such research facilities.
