MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Children's Wisconsin says it's treating the first cases of Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome in Children in Wisconsin.
Friday morning, the hospital said the cases have been reported to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome in Children, or MIS-C,causes swelling in different organs, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes or gastrointestinal organs.
Cases of this syndrome have been found in some kids who have been infected of exposed to COVID-19. Childen's Wisconsin said it can show itself in many different ways, including a persistent high fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, swelling of the hands and feet, and red eyes and tongue.
