MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say an intoxicated driver crashed into Bascom Hill on the UW-Madison campus Tuesday evening.
According to officers, Juan Cardenas was driving down the 500 block of State Street to the 700 block just after 10 p.m. when he crashed into the wall of Bascom Hill.
Police say they believe Cardenas was driving through the pedestrian only area while going approximately 50 to 60 miles per hour. He did not hit anyone.
Cardenas was arrested for 1st Offense OWI, Recklessly Endangering Safety, and also cited for failure to obey traffic signal.
