Bond set for one of escaped Columbia County inmates

Bond was set at $100,000 for one of the men who escaped from Columbia Correctional Institution in April.

Thomas Deering had his initial appearance in Columbia County court Wednesday afternoon.

Deering and James Newman escaped from the prison in Portage April 16. They were captured the next day after visiting a homeless shelter in Rockford, Illinois.
