Teen with 3 pythons in vehicle extricated following crash

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- A 16-year-old with three pythons in his pickup was extricated following a crash Wednesday, but sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesdaywhen sheriff’s deputies, along with Mt. Horeb Police, Fire and EMS and UW Med Flight, responded to a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 151 in the town of Blue Mounds.

A 16-year-old driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up truck north left the highway and rolled several times, before coming to rest in the median, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

The driver had to be extricated from the pickup and was flown by Med Flight to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release.

Animal control also responded to the scene to care for three pythons, which were inside the vehicle.
