OWI suspect escapes after arrest in DeForest

DEFOREST (WKOW) -- State Patrol troopers are looking for a man who escaped after being arrested for an OWI.

This started with a crash at mile marker 127 on Interstate 39/90/94 just after midnight Friday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says after an investigation, troopers arrested 25-year-old James Esposito of Channahon, Illinois for his first OWI offense.

Around 2 a.m., troopers say Esposito escaped while in the area of County Highway V and River Road and ran towards the City of DeForest.

Troopers describe Esposito as a white man, 5'8'', about 165 lbs., with brown hair, brown eyes and a short goatee. He was still in handcuffs, barefoot and wearing a black hooded zip up sweatshirt and blue shorts.

Anyone who sees Esposito should call 911. Troopers say you should not approach him.
