A Madison man suffered life-threatening injuries after apparently being struck by a hit-and-run driver sometime Saturday morning.
A passerby spotted the 46-year-old laying in a grassy area just off the road in the 4700 block of East Washington Avenue. Police responded to the area around 8:30 a.m.,according to an incident report.
Serious head injuries left the man unconscious. He remains in critical condition.
