Madison police have arrested a woman for a stabbing from over the weekend,according to an incident report updated Monday.
Officers arrested Tasha L. Hand for attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
A 39-year-old Madison man collapsed on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of Ridgeway Avenue at 6:52 p.m. Saturday, police said. He told people who saw him fall that his girlfriend had cut him.
Police arrived and found the man had a large stab wound in his chest. The man lost consciousness. Officers treated his injury before setting up a perimeter around his home.
Authorities said they convinced the woman inside to come out.
The man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Doctors determined that the stabbing missed his heart.
