Two women turned themselves into Madison police for the assault of a state Senator last month.
Authorities said Samantha R. Hamer, 26, and Kerida E. O'Reilly, 33, both from Madison, turned themselves in. Police arrested the pair for being parties to the crime of substantial battery and robbery with use of force.
The announcements of the arrests came in a police incident report updated Monday afternoon.
Authorities thanked the community for identifying the persons of interest.
In a video posted to his Twitter page, Sen. Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) said he was punched and kicked in the head, neck and ribs.
