Madison Metro bus driver pepper-sprayed by rider

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison Metro bus driver was pepper-sprayed in the face by a rider who claimed bus rules were not being followed, according to the Madison Police Department.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Commercial Avenue.

The rider was allegedly upset that the driver allowed a man in a wheelchair to board the bus from the front. Before that, the same man argued that he was not allowed to board the bus from the front.

He sprayed the driver twice in the face before running away.

The suspect is described as a black man about 50-years-old, wearing a beige coat over a white shirt and brown shorts.
