Dane County extends mask mandate

Dane County has extended its mask mandate, citing a rise of COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant, and high community transmission, a news release from Madison and Dane County Public Health says.

The mandate requires everyone age two and older wear a face covering or mask in any building, or where other people (excluding people in the same household), exist.

The extension will go into effect on Friday, October 8 at 12:01 a.m., and be in place until Friday, November 5 at 12:01 a.m.

The release says 84.9% of people ages 12 and up in Dane County have received at least one dose of the vaccine, which accounts for 73.6% of the entire population.
