TOWN OF BURKE (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after a man was found at a local truck stop.
Deputies responded to 6161 U.S. Highway 51 in the Town of Burke at 5:35 a.m. Thursday, April 6. An employee arriving for work at the Pine Cone Truck Stop noticed a man lying next to a sleeping bag in the parking lot.
Deputies did chest compressions on the man until Madison paramedics got there. He was taken to UW Health East Clinic, where the 36-year-old man was pronounced dead.
The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy Thursday. Investigators say they didn't see any obvious signs of injury, but drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.
