Women arrested, teen cited after attacking other teen with baseball bat

Authorities say a teenage girl was injured at Madison Memorial High School after another teenager, along with two women in their 40s and 50s, attacked her.

Madison Police say the 17-year-old victim was attacked Tuesday morning inside Memorial High School by another 17-year-old student who hit the victim with a mini souvenir-style baseball bat. Two adult women joined in assaulting the victim. The 17-year-old also used pepper spray on the victim.

A school staff member saw what was happening and intervened, radioing for assistance. The MPD's Educational Resource Officer helped to deescalate the violence.

The victim suffered bumps and bruises.

Large fans were used to ventilate an area where pepper spray was used after a couple of students became ill.

42-year-old Antonette L. Crosby of Madison, and 58-year-old Shirelle M. Crosby of Madison were both arrested for physical abuse of a child. The 17-year-old suspect was cited for the use of the pepper spray.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
