Suspect accused of fleeing police during Verona Road traffic stop

Madison Police say the suspect accused of running from police during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon, has been arrested.

Police say Rakim Bass was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. following a tactical situation, and perimeter lock down.

Bass had several active warrants, when police stopped the vehicle he was a passenger in. 

He has since been taken to the Public Safety Building.

No word on what charges he might face.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police are currently investigating an incident after a man allegedly ran from police following a traffic stop around 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Police say the incident happened on the 4500 block of Verona Road, with the suspect and passenger in the vehicle, Rakim Bass, taking off on foot, traveling to the Helene Parkway and Britta Drive area.

Authorities say Bass has several outstanding warrants, and have set up a perimeter surrounding the area where Bass was last seen.

The scene is still active and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
