Man stabbed, suspect in custody in Raymond Rd. incident

UPDATE (WKOW) -- A man is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed on Madison's west side.

Police were called to the 5800 block of Raymond Road at 7:40 p.m. Thursday responding to a call of a disturbance. That's when officers learned that one person had been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hanna Mitchell was inside an apartment in the building when the disturbance took place. She describes what she heard.

"We were all just in our room during the graduation party when we started to hear yelling and arguing and crying. There was a bunch of little kids there. We started hearing, call the police, call the police. Some of them went and looked out the window they saw people punching and fighting and being aggressive. Our friend actually saw his cousin getting stabbed by the neighbor," Mitchell said.

The suspect was taken into custody.

No word on what caused the fight.
