Madison police are searching for suspects in a crash early Friday morning on Regent Street.   It began just after 2 a.m., when two vehicles were racing down South Park Street.  One car was pulled over by police while other sped off and ended up crashing into a fire hydrant and light pole on Regent, leaving behind the engine.  The vehicle slid for a block and became engulfed in flames.   Witnesses helped the suspects out of the car, and then they ran off.

Moments later, another vehicle came across the scene and was told to turn around by police. That driver backed into a lightpole and was arrested on a 3rd offense OWI.
