Suspects arrested in Fitchburg drug-deal-gone-wrong homicide

Fitchburg Police officials says three teenagers were arrested in connection to what authorities call a drug-deal-gone-wrong homicide.

Police Chief Chad Brecklin says 20-year old Julian Patterson of Fort Atkinson accompanied a friend to the New Fountain Apartments at 5154 Anton Drive Monday, with Patterson's friend intending to sell marijuana.  Brecklin says Patterson was killed by a single gun shot at the scene of the planned drug deal.Brecklin says suspect Travon Jackson, 19, was arrested in Columbus.  He says suspects 18-year old Gary Mays and 17-year old Joshua McInnis were later arrested in Fitchburg during a traffic stop.  Brecklin says all three teenagers are jailed on tentative charges of battery for allegedly beating up a Target employee in December 2017.Brecklin says McInnis is the suspected gunman.Police officials say they expect charges in connection with the homicide to be filed by Dane County's district attorney against the teens in the near future.
