Police are on the scene of what they are describing as an attempted homicide on Madison's north side.
The victim, who was shot multiple times, is a man in his 30s. He was down but conscious when officers arrived, according to police.
The shooter is still on the loose and police are currently searching the area near Ridgecrest Apartments on Northport Drive.
Police originally were called about 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 to the 500 block of Northport Drive for a report of a shooting.
Police say they believe the suspect is still armed. Officers are actively working the scene and area, investigation on-going.
