Mistaken identity led to homicide in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- Criminal documents filed Monday show mistaken identity led to the shooting death of a man in Madison in 2017.

David Edwards was shot and killed at a gas station on East Washington Avenue in March of 2017.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, court records show the accused gunman, 26-year-old Jordan Sharlow, thought he was shooting at someone else when he opened fire on Edwards.

Five months later, the intended target, 29 year old Ricardo Simms, was shot and killed. No arrests have been made in Simms' death.   Sharlow is charged with first degree murder.  His bond has been set at a million dollars.
