Prairie School in Waunakee is currently on a "hold status," according to the Waunakee Police Department.
This means movement inside the building is not restricted, but students are not allowed outside.
In a news release, Waunakee Police say they received information from Madison Police of a domestic incident in the City of Madison. The suspect made homicidal and suicidal statements, including something about picking up and harming his child who attends the school.
The suspect has not been located, but Madison Police have probable cause to arrest him when he is located.
Waunakee Police will remain at the school until the end of the school day.
