Wisconsin Republicans Reacting To Border Family Separations

(Washington, DC)  --  Wisconsin Republicans are reacting to the backlash against President Trump's policy resulting in thousands of families being separated after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. Members of the state's GOP congressional delegation met with the President and colleagues, searching for a solution.

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir have both defended the President's current policy.

Vukmir's opponent supports a proposal to detain families together. A statement from Kevin Nicholson blamed the situation on laws enacted during President Obama's administration.

Governor Walker has declined to comment, saying it's a federal issue.
