2 men robbed at gunpoint on bike trail in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) -- Two men were robbed on a bike trail in Madison Monday night in separate incidents, according to the Madison Police Department.

The armed robberies happened on the Capital City Bike Trail at about 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Police believe they are related. The first robbery happened in the 300 block of South Brearly Street. The second happened in the 2600 block of Saint Paul Avenue. 

Officials said the victims were confronted by an unfamiliar man who showed a black handgun and demanded they get off their bikes. The robber asked for money and other contents in their pockets. 

The suspect is described as a man, between 6 foot and 6 foot 4 inches tall, large build, wearing a gray T-shirt, with curly black hair and a covered face. He was riding a bike.
