No-wake rule on Madison lakes to be lifted Tuesday

Madison area boaters received some good news from the Dane County Executive's Office Monday with the announced plan to lift the no-wake rule on three of the area lakes.

Beginning at noon Tuesday, the slow, no-wake order for Lakes Monona, Waubesa and Kegonsa will be dropped.

The no-wake order has been in effect for over three weeks due to high water levels on all the Madison area lakes.

Only the biggest, Lake Mendota, was not affected by the no-wake order.

Dry weather and improved flow on the Yahara River helped lower the lake levels.

However, boaters are reminded the no-wake rule for Squaw Bay at the southeast corner of Lake Monona remains in effect.
