One person has died and another seriously injured when the vehicle they were in crashed near Juda early Friday.
Green County Sheriff deputies, along with the Juda Fire Department and Monroe EMS, responded to a single vehicle crash about 3:50 a.m. July 27 on Wisconsin Highway 11, at County Hwy S, in Jefferson Township.
Investigators say a single vehicle was eastbound on Highway 11 and left the roadway by entering the south ditch, according to a Green County Sheriff's Office news release.
The vehicle then veered across the highway and entered the ditch on the north side of the road, where it overturned several times.
The vehicle had two occupants, according to the news release.
One person was transported by Monroe EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for serious injuries sustained in the crash. A second person was found dead at the scene. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Green County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Green County Coroner’s Office. Names of the occupants will be released upon completion of the investigation and notification of family members. Alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
State Highway 11 is closed between County Hwy S and County Hwy KS as of 8:30 a.m.
