Child airlifted to hospital after being hit in Lake Delton

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- Police say a child was hit by a car at a hotel in Lake Delton on Tuesday.

Lake Delton police and first responders were called to the parking lot of Hotel Rome on Wisconsin Dells Parkway around 4:30 p.m. on August 7. Witnesses, including hotel staff, did CPR on the child before responders arrived.

The child was taken to the airport to be airlifted to a hospital, according to police.

Lake Delton police and Wisconsin State Patrol investigators are working to determine what happened. At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to officials.

Mt. Olympus, which owns Hotel Rome, released a statement Monday night. Director of Safety Jason Hammond says "everyone at Mt. Olympus Resort is sending thoughts and prayers to the family."
