Madison Police were contacted by a local hospital for assistance with a patient that was being treated for an injury to his mouth.An unknown male came in for medical attention due to the fact a large portion of his tongue was detached. This male was able to communicate the other half of his tongue was in Brittingham Park. No canine was currently available so officers began to check the area on foot. The portion of missing tongue was located and brought to the hospital by officers.No crime was committed and there is no threat to the public as this injury appears to be self inflicted. The male is receiving medical attention for his injury.
