UPDATE (WKOW) -- A 20-year-old woman has died and a 24-year-old man driving the car she was in was injured following a three-vehicle crash on I39/90 on Madison's east side Friday. He was transported to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injures.
The car they were in lost control in heavy rain shortly after 5 a.m. and struck a barrier, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.
A second vehicle attempted to avoid the car, but struck it, forcing it into the path of a third vehicle, according to the news release.
None of those involved in the crash have been identified pending notification of family.
